Vegan Methi Puri | Vegan Fenugreek Deep Fried Bread

Ingredients:
- 1 cup Wheat flour
- 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tbsp fine rava (fine Semolina or Chiroti rava)
- 1 tsp Ajwain (Carom seeds)
- Oil for frying
- 1 cup Methi leaves
Step by step photo recipe to make Vegan Methi Puri:
- On a medium flame heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan. Add chopped Fenugreek leaves to it, and saute. Once the Fenugreek leaves have reduced in size, transfer it into a bowl, and set aside.
- Add wheat flour, salt, fine rava or semolina, ajwain seeds, and methi leaves in a bowl. Mix methi leaves and flour mixture well.
- Add 1/4 cup of water and knead the mixture to form a dough. Add 2 tbsp of extra water if required. The dough should look like the picture below.
- Next add 1 tbsp of oil to the dough and knead well. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and set aside for 10 minutes.
- Divide the dough into small balls and roll them.
- Fry the puri on medium to high flame till it has puffed up. Methi puri can be had as it is or serve it with a curry.
