Vegan Aloo Paratha | Vegan Potato Stuffed Flat Bread

Ingredients:

For dough:


  • 1 cup Wheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup water 
  • 1 tbsp oil
For stuffing:

  • 1 1/2 cup Potatoes boiled
  • 1/2 cup Onion
  • 1 inch Ginger grated
  • 1 cloves Garlic finely chopped
  • 1 green Chili finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Chaat masala powder
  • 2 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp Lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil or coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp Vegan butter (Optional)
  • Salt as per taste

Step by step photo recipe to make Vegan Aloo Paratha:


  • In a bowl mix wheat flour and salt. Add water gradually and mix well to form a soft but not sticky dough.



  • Coat the dough with 1 tbsp of oil and let it rest for 15 minutes.


  • Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan on medium flame. Add onion, chili, ginger, and garlic. Saute till onion turns golden brown.

  • Turn off the flame and add boiled potatoes. Mash the potatoes and mix well.


  • Divide the dough into four balls and dust it with wheat flour.

  • Flatten out the dough into a small circle. Place the stuffing at the center and seal the dough.


  • Dust the stuffed dough with flour and gently flatten it out using a rolling pin.

  • Heat a pan on medium to high flame and roast the paratha till its cooked on both sides.



  • Coat the parathas with vegan butter before serving. Aloo paratha can be had as it is or serve it with a curry.
